Unlimited calls and text is one of the most valuable inclusions on an Australian prepaid plan and one of the most narrowly drawn. The wording that makes it work is standard Australian numbers, and everything outside that phrase is either excluded, unsupported, or charged.
What is included
The Boost summary states unlimited calls and text to standard Australian numbers, and separately unlimited calls to domestic satellite numbers plus 5 minutes to international satellite numbers. So the standard-mobile-number allowance is genuinely unlimited, and the satellite allowance is a distinct, smaller entitlement stated in the same document.
What sits outside it
- International numbers, which are excluded from the calls and text allowance.
- Premium numbers such as 19xx and most operator assisted 12xx numbers.
- Diverted calls and all use overseas.
- Video calls, which the TPG plans exclude to both standard and international numbers.
- Directory assistance, which on the TPG plans costs $2 per call on 1223 and is not included.
Why the satellite line matters
Unlimited domestic satellite calls is unusual and useful if you travel in Australia, where mobile coverage has real gaps. The 5 minute international satellite allowance is small enough that it should be treated as an emergency allowance rather than a feature to plan around.
What is not published is any per-call duration cap on the standard allowance, so we do not claim one. If you rely on heavy calling, check the current summary on the day you buy.
What we could not verify. Where a provider has not published a figure we mark it unknown rather than estimate it. Re-read the provider page linked below on the day you decide.
