The Boost prepaid Critical Information Summary is the document behind every figure on Boost plan pages. Here are the clauses that change what you pay and what you get.
What the plan includes
- 4G and 5G on the Telstra Mobile Network, excluding 5G standalone mobile sites.
- Unlimited calls and text to standard Australian numbers.
- Unlimited calls to domestic satellite numbers, plus 5 minutes to international satellite numbers.
- Automatic SMS alerts as you approach your data limit or credit expiry.
The price-change clause
The summary states plainly that plan prices may change. That single line is the reason a long prepaid recharge is cheaper per month and more expensive per decision: the price you locked in is fixed for the term you bought, and the next term is priced on whatever the provider publishes at the time. Neither of those facts is a complaint, but only one of them is usually on the sales page.
The fair use and personal use clauses
All customers must follow the FairPlay policy, and breaching it may lead to the service being stopped or cancelled. The prepaid mobile service is for personal use only, and the plan is for use in Australia. Those three lines together rule out most of the uses people imagine a cheap data SIM is for: resale, shared access, sustained tethering abroad, and commercial workloads.
Cancellation
The cancellation field in the summary reads not applicable. For a prepaid recharge that is consistent rather than surprising: there is no contract to cancel, and the commitment ends when the credit expires unless you pay again.
What we could not verify. Where a provider has not published a figure we mark it unknown rather than estimate it. Re-read the provider page linked below on the day you decide.
