Not everything unavailable on a prepaid plan is available at a price. Some things are simply not supported, which means no amount of balance will make them work. Premium numbers are the clearest example.
The published exclusions
The TPG summary states that calls and SMS to 19 numbers, diversion to international numbers, premium SMS and premium MMS are not supported. That is a different sentence from the one listing excluded usage, and the difference is the point: excluded usage can sometimes be bought as an add-on, while not supported cannot be bought at all.
Boost states the same boundary
The Boost prepaid plans exclude calls and texts, including MMS, to international numbers, to premium numbers such as 19xx, to most operator assisted 12xx numbers, to diverted calls, and for all use overseas. The 19xx range appears in both providers documentation, which is a reasonable signal that it is a category-level exclusion rather than one company policy.
What that means practically
- Booking services, dating lines, competition entries and some charity shortcodes will not work on these plans.
- A diverted call route is excluded, so call forwarding to a premium destination is not a workaround.
- The TPG plans explicitly exclude video calls to standard and international numbers as well.
If you depend on any 19xx number, a prepaid SIM is not the right product and no plan in our comparison will solve it. We would rather say that plainly than list a plan that fails at the first call.
What we could not verify. Where a provider has not published a figure we mark it unknown rather than estimate it. Re-read the provider page linked below on the day you decide.
